Dr. Laura K. Sanders obtained her Bachelors in Arts degree from Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri and received her medical degree from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio.  She then completed both an internship in Internal Medicine and a residency in Ophthalmology at Northwestern University’s Feinberg School of Medicine. 

Dr. Sanders subsequently completed a Fellowship in Oculoplastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary in New York City.  Dr. Sanders has extensive experience as a comprehensive  ophthalmologist with special emphasis on the management of disorders of the eyelids, tear ducts and orbital tissues including the use of neurotoxins and fillers for both cosmetic and functional problems.  Dr. Sanders holds faculty appointments at both the University of Chicago and Northwestern University medical schools and is actively involved in the education of medical students and residents.  Dr. Sanders is a diplomate of the American Board of Ophthalmology and a Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and serves on the board of the Chicago Ophthalomological Society.  In her spare time, she enjoys working out at the gym or tennis court and is also an avid jewelry designer and metalsmith.
